For places that fire your imagination, look no further than Peru’s Amazon rainforest and the majestic ruins of Machu Picchu high in the Andes.
From the Amazon to Machu Picchu, this package gets you to Peru’s most stunning destinations. The adventure starts with 4 days in the rainforest. Observe birds, monkeys, and other fauna while exploring the lush green environment on foot and on water. Awe for nature restored, continue to the Andean heartland. Marvel at Cusco’s hybrid Inca-Spanish architecture, visit ruins in the Sacred Valley, and make the thrilling journey to see the Lost City of the Incas for yourself.
Upon arrival at the Lima airport, meet our Incas Expert Travel representative for a transfer to your confirmed Lima hotel.
If arriving early, you can also take in scenic Parque del Amor (Love Park) in Miraflores for views of Lima's gorgeous coastline.
Begin your jungle adventure with a flight to Puerto Maldonado. Meet the lodge staff on arrival, transfer to the port, and board a motorized canoe to travel by river to your lodge.
Spend the rest of the afternoon acclimating to the rainforest environment. Your naturalist guide will tell you more about what to expect during your stay.
Your excursions today will allow you to glimpse the incredible biodiversity of Peru’s rainforest. Visit an oxbow lake to observe hoatzin birds, squirrel monkeys, and giant otters. Learn about medicinal plants and how Amazonian communities use them. At night, join your guide to spot critters that only come out after dark.
Continue your exploration of the rainforest with a visit to a clay lick where parrots and macaws gather. Explore a trail that winds through giant ceiba trees reaching 500 feet (150 meters) tall. Travel by boat to an organic farm where locals cultivate a range of fruits and vegetables, some of which will be strange and others familiar.
After a final breakfast at the lodge, board a boat for the journey back to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco.
Upon arrival at the Cusco airport, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel. You have the rest of the afternoon to explore the city. Remember to take it easy on your first day at altitude.
Begin your day with a private guided tour of Cusco’s most important sites. Start with a visit to the Cusco Cathedral and Qoricancha. Later, see the impressive ruins of Sacsayhuaman.
Spend the afternoon at your leisure. Shop with locals at San Pedro Market or wander the streets of bohemian San Blas.
Meet your guide for a trip to the Sacred Valley. Your private tour visits the concentric circle terraces of Moray which descend nearly 500 feet (150 meters) into the earth, the multi-hued salt pans of Maras, and the monolithic fortress ruins of Ollantaytambo. At the end of the tour, catch the train to Aguas Calientes, base town for Machu Picchu.
Wake up early and meet your guide for a memorable walk through the “lost city of the Incas” and let yourself be swept away by the magical landscape that surrounds this important ruin. Finish up with last photos and then return to Aguas Calientes town for the return trip to Cusco.
Climb Huayna Picchu for views over the ruins or add an extra day in Machu Picchu.
Enjoy a final breakfast at your Cusco hotel. Then meet our representative for a transfer to the airport to begin your journey back home.

“We went from the Amazon to Cusco, hiked part of the Inca trail to see Machu Pichu and flew over the Nazca Lines from Lima. Hundreds of little details concerning transportation, luggage restrictions, tours and accommodations. All these details were a little concerning beforehand when traveling to another country, but We had absolutely NO issues and were extremely happy with everything that James and the Incas staff provided.”
“I just wanted to thank you for your advice and assistance. We had a great time. I didn't even feel the stress of a very tight schedule - THANKS”
“All in all, it was a FANTASTIC vacation. All your guided tours worked out BEAUTIFULLY. We had no hitches, and we would travel like this again!”
