The perfect package for travelers who want to see it all. Get your feet wet in capital city Lima, home to museums and world class dining. Go down the coast for a flight over the Nazca Lines and a boat tour to Ballestas. Roam the lovely city of Arequipa and watch condors soar over the Colca Canyon. Experience the majesty of Lake Titicaca and its remarkable islands. Go deep into the Andes to see Machu Picchu and then venture to the Amazon for nature like you’ve never seen it before.
Upon arrival at the Lima airport, meet our Incas Expert Travel representative for a transfer to your confirmed Lima hotel.
If arriving early, you can also take in scenic Parque del Amor (Love Park) in Miraflores for views of Lima's gorgeous coastline.
Lima is home to some of Peru’s oldest historical treasures. Join your guide for a private tour of Lima’s UNESCO-recognized Historic Center, home to the Governmental Palace, the Lima Cathedral, and San Francisco Catacombs. Your second stop is the world renowned Larco Museum, which houses the world's finest collection of pre-Columbian artifacts.
Your day starts early with a transfer aboard a comfortable first-class bus to Pisco. Store your luggage at the airport and then board a small aircraft for a thrilling flight over the Nazca Lines.
After landing, transfer to your Paracas hotel. Relax by the pool and enjoy the sunset over Paracas Bay.
Embark on a 2-hour boat tour to the marine wildlife wonderland on the Ballestas Islands. Hear the roars of sea lions and see teeming colonies of seabirds. You make even spot dolphins and Humboldt penguins.
After the tour, take a bus transfer to Lima.
Fly to Arequipa and transfer to your hotel for check-in.
Meet your guide for a closer look at Arequipa’s mestizo baroque architecture. Visit San Ignacio Chapel, the imposing Basilica Cathedral, and the mini city of Santa Catalina Monastery. The tour ends with a drive to one of the city’s lookout points for views of the city framed by Misti Volcano.
The 3-hour drive from Arequipa to the Colca Canyon passes through the extraordinary landscapes of the Reserva Nacional de Salinas y Aguada Blanca. Before the descent, you’ll reach Patapampa Pass at a staggering elevation of 16,109 feet (4,910 meters).
Stop in Chivay village for lunch, visit Calera Hot Springs, and continue to your lodge for a relaxing night.
In the morning, meet your guide for a drive to Mirador Cruz del Condor where you can see condors glide on thermal drifts over the gaping canyon below.
Return to Chivay for lunch and then begin the 5-6 hour drive to Puno. Remember that Lake Titicaca is at higher elevation than Colca Canyon. Take it easy, enjoy the sunset, and get some rest.
Departing from Puno port, begin your waterborne exploration of the world’s highest navigable lake. Stop at the Uros Floating Islands and Taquile Island to see how indigenous people maintain their traditions in an extreme high altitude lake environment.
Follow this with a visit to a local island. Depending on your preference, you can choose from a unique homestay experience in Amantani or a visit to the private island - Isla Suasi.
Take another day to further explore the island at your leisure. After lunch, board the boat back to Puno, enjoying one last look at the blue expanses of Lake Titicaca.
After breakfast, transfer to the bus station to begin the trip to Cusco. The comfortable, first-class bus includes stops along the way at important archaeological sites including Raqchi and Andahuaylillas.
Upgrade: Ride aboard the luxurious Andean Explorer train to Cusco. Depending on the season, service is limited to 3-4 weekly departures.
Begin your day with a private guided tour of Cusco’s most important sites. Start with a visit to the Cusco Cathedral and Qoricancha. Later, see the impressive ruins of Sacsayhuaman.
Spend the afternoon at your leisure. Shop with locals at San Pedro Market or wander the streets of bohemian San Blas.
Meet your guide for a trip to the Sacred Valley. Your private tour visits the concentric circle terraces of Moray which descend nearly 500 feet into the earth, the multi-hued salt pans of Maras, and the monolithic fortress ruins of Ollantaytambo. At the end of the tour, catch the train to Aguas Calientes, base town for Machu Picchu.
Wake up early and meet your guide for a memorable walk through the “lost city of the Incas” and let yourself be swept away by the magical landscape that surrounds this important ruin. Finish up with last photos and then return to Aguas Calientes town for the return trip to Cusco.
Climb Huayna Picchu for views over the ruins or add an extra day in Machu Picchu.
Begin your jungle adventure with a flight to Puerto Maldonado. Meet the lodge staff on arrival, transfer to the port, and board a motorized canoe to travel by river to your lodge.
Spend the rest of the afternoon acclimating to the rainforest environment. Your naturalist guide will tell you more about what to expect during your stay.
Your excursions today will allow you to glimpse the incredible biodiversity of Peru’s rainforest. Visit an oxbow lake to observe hoatzin birds, squirrel monkeys, and giant otters. Learn about medicinal plants and how Amazonian communities use them. At night, join your guide to spot critters that only come out after dark.
Continue your exploration of the rainforest with a visit to a clay lick where parrots and macaws gather. Explore a trail that winds through giant ceiba trees reaching 150 meters tall. Travel by boat to an organic farm where locals cultivate a range of fruits and vegetables, some of which will be strange and others familiar.
After a final breakfast at the lodge, board a boat for the journey back to Puerto Maldonado. Pick up any excess luggage at the lodge office and continue to the airport for your flight to Lima and onward to your next destination. Alternatively, you can continue your adventure by adding extra activities and destinations to this itinerary.
