Director and Founder
Bernard founded Latin America for Less in 1998, right after graduating with a degree in History from Southwestern University in Texas. More than any business tract he has ever read, the greatest influence on his life and work has been his liberal arts education. At Incas Expert Travel, Bernard derives great satisfaction from selling something he believes in and contributes a part of his earnings to Peru-based human rights organizations.
Richard joined Latin America for Less in October 2004 after receiving a degree in Music Business and Management from Berklee College in Boston, MA. After 10 years of work in the industry, he went back to school to add an MBA with a specialization in Tourism Management to his qualifications. As director, he enjoys the challenge of collaborating with local operators, communities, partners, and staff in the cultural context of Latin America.
Incas Expert Manager
Clement hails from Belgium, the land of chocolate, french fries and beer. He graduated from the Institute for Higher Social Communication Studies in the heart of Brussels. Apart from photography and art, Clement enjoys skateboarding, surfing, running and is always happy to take his backpack on a new adventure. He now lives and works in Peru and co-founded the nonprofit Concrete Jungle Foundation.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Jessica has traveled ever since she was little. After graduation, she moved to Spain to teach English at an elementary school. Living abroad helped her discover her love for learning about other cultures. After Spain, she decided that she wasn’t finished living abroad and came to Peru to volunteer for an NGO based in Lima. She had an unforgettable experience volunteering and living in Peru, which is why she chose to stay! Peru has endless amounts of adventure to offer, not to mention its incredible food!
Alisha began traveling to Latin America as a teenager on church mission trips, a cultural experience which inspired her pursuit of a degree in Spanish with a concentration in Latin American/ Latino Studies at the College of the Holy Cross. After a short stint as an exchange student at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Alisha decided to settle in Lima and always makes time to travel and pursue new adventures.
James grew up in Florence, Alabama and majored in Spanish at the University of North Alabama. After working in academia for a time, he realized his true passion was using his cultural knowledge and language skills to connect people via travel and tourism. Since his first visit to Peru in 2013, James has been to every major destination in the country. He now lives with his wife in Lima, where you can find him planning future travels and enjoying the exquisite cuisine.
Pamela was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She’s always had a passion for new cultures and destinations, having explored Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, 15 European countries and of course, Peru.After getting her degree in International Relations at The College of St. Scholastica in Minnesota, she worked for a few years for political campaigns and various NGOs in both the US and Lima. During her free time, Pamela can be found volunteering, exploring new coffee shops, and checking out craft beer breweries.
Nieves is from Yurimaguas in the northern Amazon region of Peru. At the age of 4 she moved to Lima with her family. She has a Bachelor’s in International Hospitality and Events Management from the Swiss Hotel Management School in Leysin, Switzerland. She is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese. Her favorite destination in Peru is the Amazon and her hobbies of choice are running and visiting friends around the world.
Megan studied psychology and Spanish at GCSU in her home state of Georgia and as a student traveled in the Caribbean and Central America. Later she served as a Peace Corp volunteer in rural Peru, an experience which inspired her to return and settle in Lima. Among her favorite travel experiences are riding sand dunes in Ica, hiking to waterfalls in Chanchamayo, and walking among the canopy tops in Costa Rica.
Born and raised in a small New Hampshire town, Emily hurried to California as soon as she could and studied psychology. A volunteer trip to Lima enamored her to the culture and cuisine and motivated her to return. Emily worked for a time with teaching English in the community of Kuelap. Today she lives in Lima and can be spotted running along the beautiful malecon bike path, searching for new restaurants, and planning her next adventure.
Born in Lima, Silvana studied Hospitality and Tourism in both Peru and the US. She’s traveled extensively in South America from Galapagos to Patagonia, Uyuni, and Easter Island. On your trip to Peru, she strongly recommends that you sample all the delicious varieties of Peruvian cuisine. Her top South America travel memories: Snorkeling with Galapagos sea lions and being in Rio de Janeiro during the 2014 World Cup.
Travel Advisor Assistant
Born and raised in sunny southern California, Kristy graduated with a degree in Communications Studies from California State University Long Beach in 2014. Although she visited Peru many times growing up, she always dreamed about moving to Peru for a part of her life. She is now happy to call Lima, Peru her home. You can catch her having a picnic on the malecon, perfecting her chilcanos, visiting her favorite restaurants
Burke was born in Toronto, Canada and raised in Westchester, New York. A few years after graduating from Dalhousie University, his passion for travel and music catapulted him on a Latin American adventure with his guitar. Some of his favorite experiences to date have been surfing in Costa Rica, sailing through the Caribbean, guiding tours in Ecuador and hiking to Machu Picchu in Peru.
Travel Advisor Assistant
Rachel was born and raised in a small town in New Hampshire and became addicted to traveling during family trips to Europe. After getting her Bachelor’s in French Literature, she lived in France for four years to work and pursue her Master’s in Language, Culture and International Affairs of the Americas. Her first taste of Latin America culture was through volunteering in Quito, Ecuador, and she completely fell in love. She now finds herself in Peru and looks forward to exploring more.
Travel Advisor Assistant
Born in Lima, Peru, Gonzalo moved to the United States at a very young age. After graduating from the University of North Texas in 2008 with a degree in Political Science, he came back to Peru where he specialized in the Hospitality and Tourism at Le Cordon Bleu Institute and also worked for the Marriott Hotel in Lima. During his free time you can find Gonzalo playing soccer with friends, practicing paddle board, and also planning his next trip inside Peru.
Jose trained as a tourism guide at Centro de Formation Turistica in Peru before moving to Cusco to work as an trekking and mountain biking guide.. He returned to Lima to study languages and joined our accounting team where he has enjoyed learning about the tourism industry and helping clients enjoy the many fascinating attractions of his native country. His passion is to travel until his last dime is spent and his greatest dream is to visit all of the world’s continents.
Product & Accounts Manager
Alexandra grew up in New Jersey, USA, until the age of 10 when her family moved back to Peru. In high school her passions were Peruvian history and archaeology, which motivated her to study Hotel & Tourism Management at San Martin de Porres University. During her final year completed an internship at a resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Back in Lima, she worked at the VIP Lounges at Jorge Chavez Airport and now works with us at Peru Luxury Travel.
Sales Management Coordinator
Patricia was born and rained in Lima and graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management from the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola. After graduating, she worked for the Walt Disney Company in Florida and California, and then returned to Peru to work for a top retail company in Lima. Patricia began with us as an Operations Coordinator, but these day enjoys working 1-on-1 with travelers, helping to plan dream trips.
Sales Team Coordinator
Paola studied Tourism and Hotel Management at the Universidad Ricardo Palma. She enjoys speaking different languages and can communicate in English, French, Italian, and would also like to learn German. Spontaneous, friendly, and enthusiastic, Paola loves meeting new people and is always smiling. She would like to travel around the world and visit different places to learn more about others cultures.
Ricardo in a native of Lima and is currently finishing his degree in the Administration of Tourist Companies at the National University of Federico Villarreal. He is our resident expert in Operations and Administration at Peru Luxury Travel. He has traveled extensively in the North Amazon and eastern regions of Peru and dreams of visiting all of the country’s provinces. He has previously worked for such companies as E. Wong and Banc de Credito (BCP).
Operations Quality Control
Rossy was born in Lima and has a Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management from Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola. She has many years of customer service experience working with companies such as Disney and Starbucks and as a coordinator at a 5 star hotel. Rossy believes in the power of travel to open people’s minds. She’s traveled to the beaches of northern Peru, to Cusco, Huanuco, and Ica, and looks forward to seeing more of Peru and the world.
Maribell was born and raised in Cusco, studied Tourism at Universidad San Antonio Abad in Cusco and later Hospitality Management at San Ignacio de Loyola University. She’s traveled to Park City, Utah, and Nantucket Island as part of a work-travel exchange program and also got a change to visit major U.S. cities such as Chicago, Boston, and Maui. She now lives in Lima and enjoys showing the city and other part of Peru to friends who visit from abroad.
Elizabeth was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and graduated from San Martin de Porres University. Her travels in Latin America have taken her to cities such as Panama City, Bogota, Guayaquil and Buenos Aires, which is her favorite for its art and culture. After college, Elizabeth had an opportunity to interact with travelers from all over the world while working at the VIP Lounges at the Lima airport. Today she helps us craft seamless vacation experiences for our clients.
Cusco Office Supervisor
Ivan studied tourism in both Perú and Spain, lived and worked in Europe for 7 years, and has traveled through several countries in South America, North America and Europe. His passion for anything on two wheels has fueled his adventurous exploration of South America’s geography and amazing cultural diversity. Iván has also worked in customer service for international companies and is motivated to help travelers to have an great experience wherever they go.
Cusco Guest Relations Officer
Priscilla was born in Lima but raised in Andahuaylas-Apurimac and in Cusco. She graduated as a Professional Tour Guide from CENFOTUR in Cusco and is now studying Tourism and Hotel Management at Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University. As a student, she has visited Peru’s three major regions: coast, Andes, and rainforest. For Priscilla, tourism is a way to meet people from all over the world and not only show them how fantastic and “weird” your culture is, but also learn a little about them and their lives.
Fabricio Ortiz De Zevallos
Fabricio is our official tour guide for Machu Picchu – one of the best if you ask us. He is originally from Cusco and has encyclopedic knowledge of the city and its history. Luckily for our travelers, his passion is to find the most fascinating and enchanting ways to share his wealth of information. In his spare time Fabricio enjoys river rafting, trekking, mountain biking both as a guide and a practicing expert.
Fabricio was born and raised in the Incan capital of Cusco, which inspired his fascination with archeology and history from a young age. As a child and young adult, he dedicated himself to karate and eventually became part of the National Peru Team. He has since earned a degree in archaeology from San Antonio Abad del Cusco University and a degree in tourism from Antonio Lorena Institute. He currently works as a tour guide in Cusco and the Sacred Valley while continuing his studies.
Senior Web Designer
Meet Angel Seron, our web designer and artist, graduate of Toulouse Lautrec Superior Institute of Communication and Design in Lima. Angel was born in Puerto San Juan de Marcona, 8 hours south of Lima. Angel wed his two principal passions — art and computers — by pursuing an education and career in graphic design, multimedia, and web design. He is an avid football fanatic and enjoys baseball, traveling, dancing salsa, and kicking back with Spanish rock on the stereo.
Juan Miguel Mifflin
Graphic and Web Designer
Juan Miguel Mifflin is a graduate of the prestigious Catholic University in Lima. He has lived his whole life in this city and continues to enjoy its many concerts, museums, and cultural attractions. Juan Miguel has also traveled widely around Peru, including trips to places like Ica, Nazca, Chiclayo, Arequipa, Cusco, Piura and Pisco. He considers Chachapoyas to be the most beautiful site in all of Peru. He would like to make a trip to the Peruvian jungle, but his ultimate dream destinations are China and Japan.
Fernando hails from the valley of Huaral, two hours north of Lima. He has top notch programming credentials, having studied Systems Analysis and Programming at the SISE Institute and Advanced Programming in Web Languages at TECSUP. Fernando’s other interested include strumming the guitar, cycling, and playing football. His greatest travel adventure has been climbing as high as 5,557m above sea level to the top of Mount Huaytapallana in the Andes.
Silvana is a Lima native with a love of travel. Her best childhood memories are of visiting family in Chiclayo and enjoying the gorgeous beaches of northern Peru. Silvana earned a degrees in Tourism and Hotel Management from San Martin University and has also studied Accounting. Silvana speaks English, Spanish, and French, and is looking forward to learning Portuguese next to get ready for a future trip to Brazil.
Desyi was born in Lima but spent most of her life in the beautiful jungle city of Tarapoto. She has solid credentials in tourism, having earned degrees in Tourism Administration from the National Univeristy of Federico Villarreal and Community Based Rural Tourism at the University of Antonio Ruiz de Montoya. Her future goal is to obtain a Masters Degree in Cultural Heritage Management. In her free time she likes to read, shop, take walks, and go to the movies and concerts.
A proud Lima local, Ana attended the Instituto Particular de Lima and received a bachelors degree in Accounting. She has more than 15 years of professional work experience in administrative and accounting positions with Peruvian enterprises and legal offices. She has also traveling within Peru including the Amazon and southern Andes. Huancayo, with its rich folkloric traditions, is her favorite destination. She would one day like to retire in beautiful Arequipa.
Nancy was born in the small city of Huancavelica, but has lived in Lima since she was six years old. She has been our beloved office caretaker for more than 5 years and enjoys meeting all the international employees at the office. She has travelled extensively across Peru including Ica, Cusco, Arequipa, Tacna and her personal favorite Trujillo and Huancacho. Her dream is to travel to Brazil and celebrate Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.
Cynthia was born in La Oroya, a small town in central Peru, and moved to Lima when she was six years old. Today she lives in the bustling capital city with her husband and 13-year-old daughter. As a teenager, Cynthia visited Cusco and dreams of returning. Puerto Chicama, with its beaches, pier, and local seafood specialities, is another favorite. She recently traveled to Tarma, the “Pearl of the Andes” and was enchanted by the variety of local flowers.
Istvan is among the most popular members of our team and not just because he keeps us happily well-fed. Istvan grew up in Hungary near the border with Slovekia and studied culinary arts in the city of Gyor. He has traveled extensively around Europe, including trips to Greece, Germany, England, Ireland, and Bulgaria. He has lived with his wife in Lima since 2013 and looks forward to visiting Cusco and Machu Picchu in the near future.
